On August 25th, 2025, the Culturhythmics project returned to Padova, Italy, for its second workshop series, building on the momentum of the pilot session held earlier this year.

Deepening the connection between rhythm, movement, and culture

Led once again by athletic performance trainer Slobodan Smiljanic and professor of dance Tan Temel, the workshop introduced new layers of movement exploration and rhythm-based training. This time, the focus extended beyond foundational exercises to incorporate more advanced coordination drills, improvisational dance elements, and intercultural rhythm practices, inviting participants to expand their creative and physical capacities. Adding a fresh dimension to the experience, music professional Tolga Ünaldi joined the team, crafting live instrumental beats that drove the energy of the activities and heightened participants’ engagement.

A growing platform for innovation

With the enthusiastic participation of USMA volleyball athletes, the session highlighted how rhythm and cultural expression can strengthen athletic performance, adaptability, and teamwork. The athletes responded positively to this evolving methodology, demonstrating how creativity and movement synergy can enhance not just individual performance, but also group cohesion and mental resilience.

Shaping a global training methodology

This second event marks a significant step forward in the co-design process of Culturhythmics. Insights gathered from these sessions will guide the next stages of development, refining the methodology into a powerful, cross-disciplinary tool for sports training, performing arts, and education.

Stay tuned as Culturhythmics expands its reach, with more workshops planned across Europe and beyond in 2025–2026.
